There are several colleges that can be found in this city of Mombasa offering courses ranging from certificate ,degree, higher diploma ,diploma, bachelors degree, masters to PhD,. Sincerely speaking Mombasa has been blessed with education institutions that can offer almost all faculties. Let us list them for your convenience
1.       The technical university of Mombasa
This is the mother of all tertiary institution in Mombasa. It was built by the Arab .formerly it was known as Mombasa polytechnic later it became a university college (constituent of JKUAT) before being issued with a charter in 2012. If you are a visitor in Mombasa and you need to access this institution, then from town you need to board a matatu going to Tudor poly and alight at a stage known as poly or TUM as they nowadays call it. It has a niche over other campuses since it offers technical degrees all the way to degrees. 

2.       Mombasa technical training institute
There have now changed its name to Kenya coast polytechnic. It offers a variety of courses upto diploma level and it’s a government institution. You will find it in memon areas, if you alight at Mpc church (Mombasa Pentecostal church), follow the road you will see the institution. They have niche in technical courses.
3.       Government technical institute
Also known as GTI. it is found in the famous opulence estate of Kizingo. You can easily find it by boarding ferry matatu or boarding a tuktuk from town.
4.       Nairobi university (Mombasa campus)
You can easily locate it; it’s just adjacent to Uhuru garden along Moi Avenue. It takes some floors at University plaza. This campus offers all level of courses to masters. Its clients consist of who is who in Mombasa. Most of student who come from Nairobi from well to do families prefer this campus. They are very strict with there fees terms, so if you are not financial stable don’t try this campus.
5.       Kenyatta University (Mombasa campus).
You can find this institution at along Nkrumah rd just before you reach CBK or the treasury square. They have a prime sizeable premise at good location. They offer most courses all the way to masters .they are not into technical courses.
6.       Moi university (coast campus)
Find it along moi avenue, alight at express stage along Moi avenue  on docks bound matatu, branch to  your left walk about 100 meters and there you find it. Its on a rented facilities’ known as Elite plaza where they have a reception .they have an additional facilities at Taara plaza which offer space they greatly need. This campus has gained a big acceptance in coast region due to its flexible fees terms and quality service compared to its peers.
7.       Mount Kenya university
This is anew campus that has been in existence in Mombasa .It is located along Nkrumah road msa, visit their web
8.       Vision in institute of professional (VIP)
It is the mother of all colleges in terms of accounting (CPA) and secretarial courses. You can easily locate it at ECB Bank along Moi Avenue just adjacent to new canon tower building. Most accounting students in Mombasa including me were its clients. Visit them
9.       Times Training institute
It was formed by lectures who were disgruntled from Vision (VIP).You can find it along Moi Avenue in post office plaza. It is made up of lectures who are financial gurus and who built VIP to where it is today. If you are interested in accounting and related courses here is the place to be.
10.   Star institute of Professionals
It is locate along Nyerere Avenue at Biashara building plaza. It is run by lectures that have the wide experience and most of them are indeed gurus in their area of specialization. If you need to gain quality education please visit this college.
11.   Mombasa aviation college
It is located along Nkrumah road. They are known to admit all the D and E. here student only come to fetch their certificate .All the KSCE failure pass their exams. So for those parents who know that their children have minimal chances of passing professional exam please this is the place for you.

Meet the fake form one dropout Civil Servant Moses Otieno.




Moses Otieno Obiero a form one dropout faked his way to be atop civil servant. From his looks, spectacles, his tie, his executive shirt, his eloquent speech this guy mastered it all and managed to fool everyone and anyone who came his way. The man has different names; he sometimes brands himself as Moses Otieno Obiero, or Norbert Muhoro Ikundo, or Hope Bubega or Robert Mwanyolo. The CID reveals that for last 26 years this man had used fake undergraduate degrees and postgraduate certificates to get employment in 10 companies
He was born in Uganda and went to Magwa Primary school in Jinja later he joined and finished his primary school at Army primary School in Jinja. He left Uganda for Kenya where he landed in Siaya and joined Apuoyo Primary School Siaya where he enrolled in standard Eight. He was then admitted to form one in Yala in 1986 but dropped out the same year. He later managed to move to Nairobi in 1989 where he lived with his relative. On raiding his home. CID confiscated two national cards with the numbers; 11085401 and 9287561. Birth  certificates with the following serial number  D694926, B644745 and B227280.The CID also confiscated three Kenyan passport A751118, A016879 and A1749511.Upon expert examination of all papers it was concluded that they were all forgeries.
Between 1991 and 1992 he worked at the UN Office in Nairobi as an ICT Assistant.
In 1993 and 1994 he worked at the standard Charted Bank in the  IT department
In 1995 he worked at Siemens Telcom as their technical service manager
In 1996 to 2000 he joined interactive Federation of Red cross in the technical support department.
2002 to 2006 worked with Deloitte as their systems Administrator
2008 to 2010 worked at Standard media group’s head of ICT
2011 to 2012worked for Kenya seed as the chief information officers
2012 to 2014 he was at Nzoia Sugar Company as their head of ICT
2015 to 2017 he was at PSC headquarters as the second in command at the ICT unit!!!!!!

BEWARE of A Poisonous chemical added by meat butchers.




It has come to the attention of authorities that most butchers in Kenya are adding a poisonous chemical to their meat. The preservative chemical by the name Sodium metabisulphate is a white powdery chemical commonly known as “dawa ya nyama”.The chemical is usually mixed with water and smeared on meat which has started to loose its red colour. It gives back the meat its fresh colour duping unsuspecting customers.
According to laboratory test carried on meat from markets and butcheries in Nairobi and its surrounding areas, over 98 milligrams of this chemical per Kilogram was detected
According to research the chemical can cause cancer and by international standard, fresh meat (uncanned) is not supposed to certain preservative
