There has been
an ancient belief that a woman in her menses is impure and may bring bad omen.
The Hebrew believe that menstruation is a ritual impurity and it required some
cleansing, this can be seen in the story of Jesus and the woman who bleed for
12 years (math 9:20).in the early
Christian and later, menstruation was seen as both a physical and spiritual
pollution that caused many illness and disease.
In today world the same doctrine
has taken over and is being spread as the truth. For example many men and most
community say that having sex with a partner who is menstruating/ bleeding may
cause some diseases to transfer to the man’s urethra and cause him infection and /or if the woman gives birth, then she will
give birth to an albino. About getting infection from menstrual fluids, my
research clearly shows that the same level of bacteria that may be passed
inform of vaginal secretion is the same as in menstrual fluid, so that stand is
unfounded.
Now back to the topic of menstruation and albinism. this belief has
been with us for a long time, it is widespread in Europe ,Africa, Asia and even
In Latin America .lets us have a look at the actual cause of albinism, albinism
is caused by one of several genes that distribute melanin. it is an inherited
disorder i.e. if the parent have albinism or both parents carry the gene for
albinism then their offspring my be born with this condition..The belief that
menstruation cycle can lead to children with albinism is false. Here in Africa
people living with albinism have been under attack where witchdoctors have been
hijacking and killing albinos in the belief that their body parts can be used
in witchcraft for amassing power and riches. All this are false belief just
like those passed in ancient Hebrews, that menstruation is impure. Having
intercourse with a menstruating partner does not cause any disease neither does
it leads to albinos. Good day
